The Story

Eight Unhurried Days, All of Morocco

This eight-day private tour from Marrakech is designed for travelers who want to experience Morocco properly — with enough time to slow down at each stop, take the route at a private pace, and stay in carefully chosen accommodations rather than tourist hotels.

The journey begins in Marrakech and crosses the High Atlas to the UNESCO kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, the Skoura palm grove, the Dades Valley, and the dramatic Todra Gorges — before reaching the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga for a camel trek and a night in the Sahara.

From there, the route continues north to the imperial city of Fes for a full guided day in the medina, then to the ancient capital of Meknes, the Roman ruins of Volubilis, the blue town of Chefchaouen, and back through Rabat and Casablanca — completing one full circle of Morocco's most iconic places, with breathing room at every stop.

Frequently Asked

Tour FAQ

What's the difference between the 7-day and 8-day tours?
The 8-day tour adds an extra night in Fes (so the medina visit becomes a full guided day rather than a half day), and includes proper stops at Meknes and the Roman ruins of Volubilis on the way to Chefchaouen. It also gives Day 7 a relaxed coastal route via Rabat and Casablanca, instead of squeezing both in one tight day.
Is this tour private?
Yes — 100% private. Just you and your travel companions, your own English-speaking driver/guide, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. No other travelers, no group bus, no fixed group schedule. Daily timing and stops are entirely flexible based on your interests.
Where do we sleep in the Sahara?
One night in a comfortable desert camp at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Each tent is private with comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet), and a Berber-style lounge area. Dinner is served under the stars, with Berber drumming around the fire. Luxury camp upgrades are available on request.
Can we end the tour in Casablanca or Fes instead of Marrakech?
Yes — the route can easily be adapted to end at any major airport (Marrakech, Casablanca, Fes, or Tangier) so you don't need to backtrack for your return flight. Just let us know which airport you're flying out of, and we'll adjust the final day's plan accordingly. Ending in Casablanca or Fes typically shortens the tour to 7 days.
What's included on the guided Fes day?
A licensed local Fes guide accompanies you for the full day inside the medina (separate from your driver-guide). You'll visit the Chouara tanneries, the Al-Quaraouiyine (the world's oldest continuously operating university), Bou Inania Madrasa, the artisan quarters, the royal palace gates, and have time at viewpoints over the medina. The afternoon is free to wander or rest.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Absolutely. The 8-day program is a flexible base — you can add days, change accommodations, upgrade to luxury riads or a luxury desert camp, add an Essaouira coast stop, swap Volubilis for a longer Chefchaouen stay, or extend the tour with Marrakech sightseeing days. Tell us your interests and we'll tailor the journey to fit you perfectly.
Is this tour suitable for families or seniors?
Yes — the 8-day tour is one of our most family-friendly and senior-friendly itineraries because the pace is balanced and the vehicle is air-conditioned and comfortable. Daily distances are reasonable, with regular rest stops and flexibility to slow down or rearrange the schedule. The camel ride in Merzouga is optional and can be replaced with a 4x4 transfer to the desert camp.
What's the best time of year for this tour?
Morocco is a year-round destination. The best months are March–May (spring, mild and green) and September–November (autumn, warm but not hot). June–August can be very hot in the Sahara and Marrakech, though comfortable in Chefchaouen and Fes. December–February brings cooler days, occasional rain, and snow in the High Atlas — but it's also less crowded and very atmospheric.
