The Story

Ten Days Across All of Morocco

This ten-day private Morocco tour from Casablanca is a complete loop that covers the country's most iconic places — from the Red City of Marrakech to the orange dunes of the Sahara, from the medieval medina of Fes to the cosmopolitan port of Tangier, and the famous blue alleys of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. A natural circuit designed for travelers who want to see Morocco in depth without the constraints of a longer 14-day journey.

The first half of the tour heads south from Casablanca: Marrakech, Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate, the Dades Valley, and the Sahara dunes at Merzouga — culminating in a sunset camel ride and a night in a comfortable desert camp under the stars. From the Sahara, the journey turns north through the Middle Atlas cedar forests to the imperial city of Fes, with a full guided cultural day inside the world's largest car-free medina.

The final days bring you to the cosmopolitan northern port of Tangier — gateway between Africa and Europe — and the iconic blue town of Chefchaouen nestled in the Rif Mountains. The tour ends with a scenic drive back along the Atlantic coast to Casablanca airport for your departure flight.

Day 03

Marrakech → Aït Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate

Leave Marrakech in the morning for one of the most cinematic drives in North Africa — across the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka pass at 2,260 meters, the highest mountain pass in North Africa. Stop at viewpoints over Berber villages perched on the mountainsides before descending into the red plains of the south. Visit Aït Ben Haddou — the UNESCO-listed mud-brick kasbah used in Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia. Continue to Ouarzazate, the "Hollywood of Morocco," with a short visit of the Taourirt Kasbah before overnight in a boutique hotel.

Day 04

Ouarzazate → Skoura → Dades Valley

A slow day designed for the southern landscapes. After breakfast, walk through the Skoura palm grove with its scattered ancient kasbahs, including the famous Kasbah Amridil. Continue along the legendary "Road of a Thousand Kasbahs" toward the Dades Valley — every bend reveals a fortified mud-brick village, a palm grove, or a red-rock viewpoint. Arrive in Dades by late afternoon and check into a kasbah-style hotel built into the valley walls, with dinner served on a terrace overlooking the "monkey fingers" rock formations.

Day 05

Dades → Todra Gorges → Merzouga Sahara

After breakfast, drive to the Todra Gorges — one of the most spectacular natural sites in Morocco, where you can walk inside the canyon between rock walls rising 300 meters above the river. Continue east through palm groves and desert plains toward Merzouga, with stops for photos and lunch along the way. Arrive at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes in the late afternoon, where your camel will be waiting. Ride at sunset into the dunes as the sand turns from gold to pink to deep orange. Dinner under the stars at your desert camp.

Day 06

Merzouga → Middle Atlas → Fes

Sunrise over the dunes followed by breakfast at the camp. Begin the long but spectacular drive north across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Leave the Sahara through Erfoud and the Ziz Valley canyon, then ascend into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas with a stop at Ifrane — nicknamed "Little Switzerland." The cedar groves around the town are home to wild Barbary macaques. Continue through Midelt for lunch and arrive in Fes by early evening for overnight in a luxury riad inside the medina.

A full day exploring Fes with a licensed local guide. Walk through the world's largest car-free medina — a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the famous Chouara tanneries with their dramatic vats of natural dyes, the Al-Quaraouiyine (the world's oldest continuously operating university), the Bou Inania Madrasa with its stunning zellige tiles, the artisan quarters where craftsmen still work copper, leather, and brass by hand, and the royal palace gates. Free afternoon to wander or rest at your riad.

Continue along the Atlantic coast to Tangier, the cosmopolitan northern port where Europe meets Africa. Late afternoon arrival with time to visit the Kasbah, the medina, the American Legation, and Cape Spartel — the famous viewpoint where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Mediterranean Sea. Frequently Asked

Tour FAQ

Why does this tour start and end in Casablanca?
Casablanca has Morocco's largest international airport with direct flights from across Europe, North America, and the Middle East, making it the easiest entry and exit point for many travelers. The 10-day route follows a natural circuit south, east, and north before returning to Casablanca, so you don't need to fly into one city and out of another.
Why is there only one night in Marrakech?
The standard 10-day route includes one night in Marrakech on Day 2 to keep the tour balanced across 8 destinations. If you'd like to spend more time in the Red City, we can easily add an extra night with a full guided day visiting the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Gardens, and the souks with a licensed local guide. Just let us know when booking.
Is this tour private?
Yes — 100% private. Just you and your travel companions, your own English-speaking driver/guide, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. No other travelers, no group bus, no fixed group schedule. Daily timing and stops are entirely flexible based on your interests.
What's the longest driving day?
The longest day is Day 6 — Merzouga to Fes — which is approximately 8–9 hours of driving with stops for photos, lunch, and the Barbary macaques in the cedar forests. We make this drive intentionally scenic with viewpoints and a lunch break in Midelt, but it is a long day on the road. All other days are between 3 and 6 hours of driving with multiple stops.
Where do we sleep in the Sahara?
The Sahara night is spent in a comfortable desert camp at Erg Chebbi. Each tent is private with comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet), and a Berber-style lounge area. Dinner is served under the stars with Berber drumming around the fire. Luxury camp upgrades are available on request for an additional fee.
Can we skip Tangier or replace it with another stop?
Yes — if you'd prefer to spend more time elsewhere, we can replace the Tangier night with an extra night in Fes, Chefchaouen, or Marrakech. Some travelers also use the Tangier night as a connection to a day-trip to Tetouan or the Cap Spartel coast. Tell us your priorities and we'll adapt the route accordingly.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Absolutely. The 10-day program is a flexible base — you can add extra days in Marrakech or Chefchaouen, add a second Sahara night, upgrade to luxury riads or a luxury desert camp, add cooking classes or hammam visits, or build a completely original itinerary. Tell us your interests and we'll tailor the journey to fit you perfectly.
What's the best time of year for this tour?
Morocco is a year-round destination. The best months for this comprehensive tour are March–May (spring, mild and green) and September–November (autumn, warm but not hot). June–August can be very hot in the Sahara and Marrakech, though comfortable in Tangier, Chefchaouen, and the coast. December–February brings cooler days, occasional rain, snow in the Atlas, and the most atmospheric desert nights.
