The Story

One Week Across Morocco

This seven-day private Morocco tour from Tangier is built for travelers who want the essential Moroccan experience in a single complete week — covering the country's most iconic destinations without rushing through them. Starting from the cosmopolitan port of Tangier, the journey moves south through Chefchaouen's famous blue alleys, the imperial medina of Fes, the Sahara Desert at Merzouga with a sunset camel trek and a night in a comfortable desert camp, and the southern kasbahs before ending in Marrakech.

The tour combines all of Morocco's signature experiences: a wander in the blue alleys of Chefchaouen at golden hour, a full guided cultural day inside the medieval Fes medina with a licensed local guide, a sunset camel ride into the orange dunes of Erg Chebbi, a comfortable Sahara desert camp under the stars, the spectacular Todra Gorges, the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou, and the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass before arriving in the Red City of Marrakech.

You'll travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your own English-speaking driver, stay in carefully chosen riads, boutique hotels, and a Sahara desert camp — and end the tour in Marrakech, perfectly positioned for departure from Marrakech airport or to extend your stay in the Red City.

Continue through Midelt, the Ziz Valley canyon with its endless palm grove, and the desert plains to reach Merzouga at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. At sunset, ride a camel into the dunes as the sand turns from gold to pink to deep orange — the legendary sunset camel trek. Frequently Asked

Tour FAQ

Why does this tour end in Marrakech instead of Casablanca?
Ending in Marrakech is the most efficient choice for a 7-day tour — it eliminates a 3-hour transfer day to Casablanca and gives you more time at the destinations. Marrakech-Menara Airport has direct flights to most major European cities. If you'd prefer to finish at Casablanca instead, we can extend the tour by one day to include the Casablanca transfer with a Hassan II Mosque stop.
Why does this tour start in Tangier?
Tangier is the most convenient entry point for travelers arriving from Europe — daily ferry connections from Spain (Tarifa, Algeciras), direct flights from many European cities, and good train connections. Starting in Tangier also gives you the Mediterranean experience at the beginning of the tour before continuing south to the desert.
Is the 7-day pace too fast?
The 7-day tour is intentionally compact — it covers Morocco's essential destinations within a single week but includes some long driving days (especially Day 5 from Fes to Merzouga, approximately 8–9 hours). If you'd prefer a slower pace with extra time for culture, Marrakech, or rest days, our 8, 9, 10, or 15-day Tangier tours add more nights and a softer rhythm.
Is this tour private?
Yes — 100% private. Just you and your travel companions, your own English-speaking driver/guide, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. No other travelers, no group bus, no fixed group schedule. Daily timing and stops are entirely flexible based on your interests.
Where do we sleep in the Sahara?
The Sahara night is spent in a comfortable desert camp at Erg Chebbi. Each tent is private with comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet), and a Berber-style lounge area. Dinner is served under the stars with Berber drumming around the fire. Luxury camp upgrades are available on request for an additional fee.
Can I add nights in Marrakech?
Absolutely. The tour ends in Marrakech on Day 7, so you can easily add additional nights at the end for a full Marrakech experience — a full guided day with a licensed local guide (Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Majorelle Gardens, souks), a cooking class, a day trip to Ourika Valley or Essaouira, or simply more time to enjoy your riad. We can book your extra Marrakech nights for you.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Absolutely. The 7-day program is a flexible base — you can add nights anywhere, upgrade to luxury riads or a luxury desert camp, add cooking classes or hammam visits, include a second Sahara night for a nomad experience day, or build a completely original itinerary. Tell us your interests and we'll tailor the journey to fit you perfectly.
What's the best time of year for this tour?
Morocco is a year-round destination. The best months for this tour are March–May (spring, mild and green) and September–November (autumn, warm but not hot). June–August can be very hot in the Sahara and Marrakech, though comfortable in Tangier, Chefchaouen, and the Atlas. December–February brings cooler days, occasional rain, snow in the Atlas, and the most atmospheric desert nights.
