Tour Overview

A Balanced Desert & Kasbahs Journey

This 5 Days Marrakech Desert & Kasbahs Tour is the ideal balance for travelers who want to experience all of southern Morocco's iconic landscapes — the cinematic kasbahs, the green palm valleys, the golden Sahara dunes, and the dramatic mountain crossings — without rushing.

The route follows a classic loop: cross the High Atlas Mountains, visit the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou kasbah, explore Ouarzazate (Morocco's "Hollywood") and the Skoura palm grove, then drive the legendary Draa Valley with its 200+ kilometers of palm oases. From there, reach Merzouga for a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes and an overnight in a Sahara desert camp under the stars.

On the way back, the tour winds north through the Todra Gorges, the red rock formations of the Dades Valley, and across the High Atlas once more — completing a circular journey through every kind of southern Moroccan landscape. Every detail is fully private — your driver/guide, vehicle, and itinerary are exclusively yours.

Frequently Asked

Tour FAQ

Why choose the 5-day tour over 3 or 4 days?
The 5-day tour is the most balanced southern Morocco circuit. It adds the legendary Draa Valley and Skoura palm grove that the shorter tours skip, gives you more time at each stop, and creates a real loop instead of going and returning the same way. You'll see desert dunes, palm oases, kasbahs, gorges, and mountains in one private journey.
What is the Draa Valley like?
The Draa Valley is Morocco's longest river valley — over 200 kilometers of palm oases stretching from Ouarzazate down toward the Sahara. The drive through it is one of the most scenic in the country: endless palm groves, mud-brick villages, ancient kasbahs, and meeting points for nomadic Berber communities. We stop along the way for photos and mint tea with locals.
Where do we sleep in the Sahara?
One night in the Sahara desert camp at Erg Chebbi, near Merzouga. Each tent is private with comfortable beds, en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet, and a Berber-style lounge area. Dinner is served under the stars, and Berber drumming around the fire is part of the evening. Luxury camp upgrades are available on request.
Is this tour private?
Yes — this tour is 100% private. Just you and your travel companions, your own English-speaking driver/guide, and a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. No other travelers, no group bus, no fixed group schedule. The pace is yours.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Absolutely. The 5-day program is a flexible base — you can add an extra night in the desert, upgrade to a luxury camp, swap accommodations, add a stop in M'Hamid or the Erg Chigaga dunes, or extend the tour with Marrakech sightseeing. Tell us your interests and we'll tailor the journey to fit you perfectly.
Is this tour suitable for families or seniors?
Yes — this tour is well-suited for families with children and senior travelers thanks to its balanced pace and shorter daily drives compared to the 3-day version. The vehicle is air-conditioned and comfortable, and the camel ride in Merzouga is optional and can be replaced with a 4x4 transfer to the desert camp for guests who prefer not to ride.
